It only takes a few minutes to install Intercom on your web app. Once installed, you’ll be able to see and talk to logged in users of your app.

First, enter your email address on the Intercom homepage and create your account.

Next, start your free trial.

Here's how your free trial works:

  1. You'll get a 14 day free trial of each product, which you can start at any time.
  2. After your free trial ends, Intercom's products start at $49/month.
  3. If you cancel in the first 14 days you won't be charged.

Then install the JavaScript code

Here's the link to the JavaScript code (where we pre-populate your APP ID for you).

Or you can quickly grab it from here instead (note: if you copy the code below you will need to manually change your APP_ID).

  window.intercomSettings = {
    app_id: 'APP_ID',
    name: "Jane Doe", // Full name
    email: "", // Email address
    created_at: 1312182000 // Signup date as a Unix timestamp
<script>(function(){var w=window;var ic=w.Intercom;if(typeof ic==="function"){ic('reattach_activator');ic('update',intercomSettings);}else{var d=document;var i=function(){i.c(arguments)};i.q=[];i.c=function(args){i.q.push(args)};w.Intercom=i;function l(){var s=d.createElement('script');s.type='text/javascript';s.async=true;s.src='';var x=d.getElementsByTagName('script')[0];x.parentNode.insertBefore(s,x);}if(w.attachEvent){w.attachEvent('onload',l);}else{w.addEventListener('load',l,false);}}})()</script>

How to use the code

  1. Paste the code right before the closing body tag of every page where you want the Intercom Messenger to appear.
  2. Then just edit the code to include the email address and signed-up date of the user who is currently logged in.
  3. IMPORTANT: If you copied the code snippet above make sure to change your APP_ID.
  4. To complete the code install, activate Intercom by logging into your app in your development environment.

Now you're ready to start using Intercom.
